Rearing Sheet for Carebara diversa

Carebara diversa are a highly unique species: a massive queen, small minors, gigantic majors, along with an extremely rapid development offset by a short lifespan of workers. Once past the founding stage, maintenance becomes simpler, but this species is still reserved for experienced breeders (risk of escape and high food demand).

General Information:
Rearing Difficulty: Moderate
Geographical Distribution: Tropical Asia
Origin: Thailand (Northern Region)
-Queen Size: 20mm
-Worker Size: 3 to 15mm
-Polygynous: No
-Mature Colony Size: Approximately 200,000 workers (however, in captivity, this number can be restricted by rationing food)

Maintenance Information:
Humidity: 70-80%
Temperature: 22-28°C (ideal at 25°C)
Diapause: No, a decrease in temperature to around 20°C during the winter period is sufficient.
Ant Farms: Any ant farm equipped with a humid area suitable for the colony’s size will be suitable. Avoid smooth plastic or plexiglass ant farms; mineral ant farms are recommended.
