Acanthomyrmex thailandensis Care Sheet
Acanthomyrmex thailandensis is a small species with a very distinctive appearance: the majors have a huge head (for shredding insects and especially for breaking seeds). They are completely peaceful and will avoid combat at all costs, making them a great species for cohabitation, especially since colonies remain small (up to 200 workers).

– Queen Size: 8mm
– Worker Size: 3 to 8mm
– Polygyny: Generally no, but polygynous colonies are occasionally observed
– Mature Colony Size: Approximately 200 workers
Maintenance Information:
– Humidity: 60-80%
– Temperature: 20-27°C (ideal at 24°C)
– Diapause: No diapause needed. A decrease in temperature to around 20°C during the winter is sufficient.
– Nest: Any nest equipped with a humid area suitable for the colony’s size will work.
Feeding:
– Diet: Sugary liquids and insects
