Pseudolasius similus is an exotic species that resembles our native Lasius ants but with enormous majors! They develop quickly but are sensitive to sudden changes in conditions, requiring relatively consistent humidity.

– Origin: China
– Queen Size: 8mm
– Worker Size: 3-6mm
– Polygyny: No
– Mature Colony Size: No reliable source, but likely between 5,000 and 10,000 workers
Maintenance Information:
– Humidity: 70-90%
– Temperature: 20-27°C (ideal at 25°C)
– Diapause: No diapause needed. A decrease in temperature to around 20°C during the winter is sufficient.
– Nest: Any nest equipped with a humid area suitable for the colony’s size will work.
Feeding:
– Diet: Sugary liquids and insects
