Camponotus pompeius Breeding Sheet

Camponotus pompeius is, to my knowledge, the largest Camponotus species in Africa. Its workers tend to raise their gasters like Cataglyphis when they feel threatened! At the moment, they seem absolutely easy to breed.

General Information:
Level of Difficulty: Easy
Geographical Distribution: Central Africa
Origin: Burundi
-Queen Size: 21mm
-Worker Size: 9-18mm
-Polygynous: No
-Mature Colony Size: Unknown

Maintenance Information:
Humidity: 50-70%
Temperature: 22-28°C (ideal at 27°C)
Diapause: No, a temperature decrease to around 20°C during the winter period is sufficient.
Ant Farms: Any ant farm equipped with a humid zone and suitable for the colony size will suit them.
Food: Sugary liquids and insects

The colonies and queens of Camponotus pompeius that we sell are all guaranteed 100% arrival alive, with a healthy brood and a clean test tube.
